One of my most detailed portraits of our moon, ever. This image illustrates the rich texture that forms along the lunar terminator during the "first quarter" phase. With a stark contrast between the lunar seas and lunar highlands visible.
This is the closest I'll come to directly imaging the Apollo landing sites, 4 of which are illuminated in this photo. You could actually see details of the sites if this photo had a few thousand times the resolution. Maybe one day?
To take a deeper dive into this photo- here's the full 273 megapixel image for you to download and zoom into at your leisure. It has been highly compressed for portability. A minimally compressed version is available to download or produce your own prints in the product size drop-down.
The size indicated is the "leaf size", which will include a 1/2" white border for handling and framing.
