"The Falcon and the Rabbit" is the luckiest shot I've ever captured, as it was completely unplanned. I spotted the falcon 9 leaving Vandenberg on the horizon and recognized what it was in time to grab a camera and capture this image. Ordinarily my shots involve significant planning, and robust equipment on expensive tracking mounts. This was shot by awkwardly holding my telescope on my knee while laying awkwardly in my backyard, as there wasn't quite time to grab a tripod. This final image is a blend of multiple shots to clean up the noise generated by shooting at a high ISO, and one of my favorite captures of the year.
The sizes indicated is the "leaf" size, the unframed print includes a small white border for handling and framing, and the framed print will be slightly larger due to the thickness of the frame and include a small matting.
