Heavenly Objects
Heavenly Objects
"Heavenly Objects" by Andrew McCarthy
printed on C-Type Matt
Slim phases of the Waxing Crescent moon are found a couple days each month chasing after our sun in the sky. This placement in our skies makes it an ideal candidate for a stunningly colorful foreground as the light from the setting sun disperses through the atmosphere. In this scene, crepuscular rays dance around the waxing crescent moon through fluffy backlit clouds.
Captured using two telescopes and two cameras, "Heavenly Objects" is the perfect example of what is possible when applying compositing techniques to astrophotography to capture a scene that would otherwise be impossible to record on camera.
The size indicated is the printed area, the print will also include a 1/2" white border for handling and framing.
