"By the Light of Venus" by Andrew McCarthy
printed on C-Type Matt
Every lunar cycle, the moon passes near planets along the equatorial plane. Sometimes these "conjunctions" are close enough to capture both objects with a telescope, which is what you can see here. This conjunction of the moon and Venus was captured using a combination of telescopes at different focal lengths, so I could preserve the magic of the scene as the moon emerged from the cloud layers in extreme detail. This HDR final product was a labor of love, and my favorite conjunction image to date.
The size indicated is the printed area, the print will also include a 1/2" white border for handling and framing.
