To the eye- the total lunar eclipse doesn't shine like a jewel, it burned like a coal. This naked-eye view of our moon in Earth's shadow in a total lunar eclipse, glowing red from our sunsets being cast onto its surface. A total lunar eclipse happens when the Moon is completely concealed by the darkest portion of Earth's shadow, known as the "Umbra". The view to your eyes is ominous. Without understanding the mechanics of the eclipse, I could see how these events could cause superstition in even the most rational people. 

The size indicated is the "leaf size", which will include a 1/2" white border for handling and framing.
