"Blood Moon" by Andrew McCarthy
Available on Metal or Archival Rag paper.

Every so often the moon passes right through Earth's shadow. When this happens, the moon is dimmed as the large circular shadow creeps across its surface. When completely obscured, the moon glows with a dull red, which is the reflected light from sunsets around the entire Earth. This is also one of the best times to capture the surrounding stars, as ordinarily the glow of the moon defeats the relatively faint stellar backdrop.

This completely reprocessed image was created from the raw data captured on January 19, 2019 during the total lunar eclipse. That data was blended with a full moon shot from a different day to blend the details of a brighter moon with the color from this rare blood moon. This was necessary to resolve crisp details along the lunar surface. The final composite image shows the last moments of sunlight on the limb of the moon before it is completely obscured in shadow.

Product Details
For paper prints, the size indicated is the "leaf size", which will include a 1" white border for handling and framing. The frame is a molded wood with acrylic cover, including a simple white matting. Metal prints are fabricated using a proprietary printing process that boasts a non-reflective surface that allows for the deepest display of color and contrast available for print. The image is printed right to the edge of the material.
