"Andromeda" by Andrew McCarthy
Available on Metal or Archival Rag paper.
The Andromeda galaxy is one of the most distant objects we can observe with the naked eye. From dark skies, it looks like a faint smudge amongst a sea of stars. In longer exposed images, structure can be resolved around a bright central core. Through the art of astrophotography, vibrant distant worlds comes alive in a photo that took 2.5 million years to capture.
This newly remastered image had noise reduction and posterization removed, as well as some details sharpened and polished for print. Some of the colors in the spiral structure were further brought out to reveal the vibrant nature of this galaxy.
For paper prints, the size indicated is the "leaf size", which will include a 1" white border for handling and framing. The frame is a molded wood with acrylic cover, including a simple white matting.
Metal prints are fabricated using a proprietary printing process that boasts a non-reflective surface that allows for the deepest display of color and contrast available for print. The image is printed right to the edge of the material.
